Nancy O'Dell's first position in the broadcasting industry was as a reporter/anchor at WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Later, she was morning news anchor at WCBD TV and acted as a crime reporter. While in Charleston O'Dell's reporting regarding the police's lenient approach towards DUI cases caused the launch of a State Law Enforcement Division investigation which resulted in the State authorities issuing a more stringent directive regarding these instances. The Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell the Best Report of the year award for every aspect of South Carolina media. After her time in Charleston O'Dell worked as a co-anchor and investigative reporter for the NBC Miami station WTVJ-TV before joining Access Hollywood as a weekend co-anchor and weekday correspondent. O'Dell in addition to being the anchor of Access Hollywood, also appears on NBC News Today as well Dateline NBC. The anchor has hosted a number of pre-shows and arrivals shows to The Emmys as well as The Golden Globe Awards. She also co-hosted The Miss USA pageant as well as the Miss USA pageant and the Miss Universe pageant.
