Mena Alexandra Suvari (born on the 13th of February, 1979) is a famous American actress fashion designer and model. When she was in 1990, shortly after beginning her career as a model, she began to appear in tv shows such as Boy Meets World. Her debut on film was the show Nowhere which was that was released in the year 1997. Her performances on the film American Beauty, for which she received a BAFTA Award nomination and American Pie attracted a lot of public attention. In the following years, she appeared as the protagonist in Sugar & Spice (2000) with American Pie star Jason Biggs. She had appearances in the 2002 independent drama Spun and the 2004 thriller feature Trauma. She also starred on HBO's drama Six Feet Under. She was nominated for the Screen Actors Guild Award for 2005, as part of the Outstanding Ensemble. In 2008, she featured in several films like Day of the Dead The Mysteries of Pittsburgh and the film adaptation to The Garden of Eden. Suvari is a model on behalf of Lancome Paris Adaptive, and she has also appeared on a number of fashion blogs and magazines such as Vogue. She has long been a campaigner for and a supporter of the esteemed African relief group, The African Medical and Research Foundation. She is also involved in issues of female empowerment and is involved with organizations whose mission is breast cancer, and the End Violence Against Women campaign.
